Description

@chep0k

Hello!

A sentence from the page: "Variance tells us how much observation deviates from its central and most probable value."
Mathematically, only "from its central (expected) value". For the most probable value, or mode of the distribution, the statement is not true.
For those interested why, take a mixture of two gaussian distributions with different means, their central value will be somewhere between two peaks, while the mode is the highest of these two peaks.
