The vulnerability was responsibly disclosed and fixed by Nadav Magier.

In vulnerable versions, the issue can be mitigated by lowering the value of the maxPayload option if possible.

Superseded — closing without merging.

main already resolves ws@8.21.1 (≥ the fixed 8.21.0, GHSA-96hv-2xvq-fx4p), pulled in transitively via #27 (AAP-19946 piscina bump, commit 8540fe7). This PR targets 8.21.0, so merging it would downgrade ws 8.21.1 → 8.21.0 — hence the conflict. The CVE is already patched on main; no action needed here.
