On Windows, when you're running Windows containers, turn on **Use proxy for
Windows Docker daemon** to route the Windows Docker daemon through Docker
Desktop's internal proxy. This lets the daemon use system or manually configured
proxy settings, including proxies that require authentication. It also applies
[Registry Access Management](/manuals/enterprise/security/hardened-desktop/registry-access-management.md#registry-limits-and-platform-constraints)
restrictions to Windows image operations. Docker Business administrators can
manage this option with the
[`windowsDockerdPort` setting](/manuals/enterprise/security/hardened-desktop/settings-management/settings-reference.md#override-windows-dockerd-port).
